Cefolac DT, brand name of Cefixime Trihydrate and Lactic Acid, belongs to the antibiotic group of drugs used in the treatment of certain infections caused due to bacteria. The medication works by combining penicillin-binding proteins that reduces the peptidoglycan synthesis step of the final transpeptidation in the formation of bacterial cell wall. This further reduces biosynthesis and arrests cell wall assembly that leads to the death of bacterial cell. Cefolac D T tablet is available in the strength of 200 mg/ 60 million spores and 100 mg/ 40 million spores.


Cefolac DT, combination of Cefixime Trihydrate and Lactic Acid, is an antibiotic used in the infection of chest, throat, eye, skin or bladder caused due to bacteria. This antibiotic is also found effective in the treatment of sexually-transmitted disease called gonorrhoea along with the bacterial infections.

Side effects

Like with any other medications, side effects are also common with Cefolac D T, tough it is not necessary for each and every patient to experience any kind side effects because most of the patients tolerate the medication quite well. Some of the commonly reported side effects associated with Cefolac D T include: • Nausea • Vomiting • Diarrhea • Headache & Dizziness • Thrombocytopenia • Abdominal Pain • Eosinophilia In case of any of these side effects patients must immediately consult with the doctor to avoid any serious consequences.
