Generic Achromycin is an antibiotic prescribed for the treatment of a number of common infections. It comes from the family of antibiotics popularly known as tetracyclines. It works by impeding the ability of the bacteria to produce proteins that are pertinent for their growth and development. The process stops the spreading of the infection and finally the already present bacteria are destroyed by the immune system of the body.

Generic Achromycin is used for the treatment of a number of bacterial infections, including Lyme disease, Cholera, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, certain types of pneumonia, Gonorrhea, some kinds of urinary tract infections (UTIs) and plague. It may also be prescribed for certain types of acne infection.

Some of the common side effects caused by Generic Achromycin are Diarrhea, nausea, difficulty in swallowing, fatigue, dizziness, vaginal irritation or discharge, weakness, and fever, loss of appetite, upset stomach, and skin reaction on exposure to sunlight. More serious side effect that may require instant medical attention are difficulty swallowing or breathing, chest pain, hoarseness, swelling of your legs, face, lips, hands, eyes, throat, or tongue.
