Generic Asmanex has mometasone furoate, which is a synthetic corticosteroid with anti- inflammatory activity. It is used for dermatologic treatment.


Generic Asmanex is prescribed for the treatment of the inflammatory skin conditions like that of dermatitis and psoriasis. It effectively decreases the intensity of flare ups of dermatitis and psoriasis and brings it under control by decreasing the redness and itchiness.

Side effects

Some of the known side effects of Generic asmanex are itchiness, acne, hair growth, and stinging, burning, tingling, inflammation of the hair follicles on the skin, change in skin colour, thinning of the skin, allergic skin reactions and bacterial skin infections. Prolonged use of the medication may also result in cushing's syndrome, Cushingoid features, slow growth, feeble bones, cataract, adrenal suppression, and glaucoma.


The ointment should be stored between 2°and 30°C. Keep it safe from the reach of heat, light and moisture. Also, children should not be allowed to use it.


Mometasone furoate is the active ingredient in the composition.

Important Precautions

• Use the medication exactly as directed by the physician. • Do not apply it close to your close and mouth. • Do not cover, wrap or bandage the treated area unless your doctor has prescribed so. Immediately contact your doctor on experiencing symptoms of local adverse reactions. • Do not apply the cream on face, underarms, or groin areas unless your physician has asked you to do so. • Do not use any other corticosteroid-containing products while you are using this cream without consulting with the physician.

Dosage and administration

A thin layer of the cream should be applied on the infected area for one time in a day. Wash your hands before using the cream. Do not apply the cream on children of and below 2 years. Do not keep on using the cream if it does not show any improve in first two weeks of application. Do not keep on using the cream without doctor’s consult.


Cases of Generic Asmanex overdose should be handled by the doctor as soon as suspecting the overdose. Persisting overdose may result in signs of hypercorticism.
