Introduction

Livial is a prescribed synthetic steroid that is used as a Hormone Replacement therapy (HRT). On taken orally, it further gets disintegrated into three primary compounds that start working as natural oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone present in the body. Livial is also used for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis in women. Also, women dealing with the problem of untimely menopause and hereditary of osteoporosis are prescribed Livial.


Use

Livial or commercially popular as Tibolone is a medication prescribed to treat problems of endometriosis as it relieves the symptoms of oestrogen deficiency. It is also used for the treatment of hormone replacement therapy in post-menopausal women. The medication is believed to compose similar or better efficacy than previously known hormone replacement drugs.


Side effects

Most patients who take Livial complain of side effects, but most these effects are mild in nature and can be easily dealt with. Some of the common side effects are stomach or pelvic pain, vaginal bleeding or spotting, inappropriate hair growth, breast pain, vaginal secretions, itch, irritation and thrush, womb or cervix lining thickening, weight gain. In addition to these problems, some women also complain of acne, painful nipples, uncomfortable breasts feeling, acne, tummy upset, skin problem and joint pains. Some serious side effects may include problems of oestrogen-dependent tumors, heart attack and strokes, gall bladder sickness, blood clots in the veins, and dementia.

Livial tablets should be maintained in its original blister strip packing in a dry place at a temperature below 25°C. Lower temperature does not mean that you can store it in fridge. Keep it away from light and reach of children.

Dosage and administration

Overdosage
