Generic Pulmicort comes from the family of medications known as inhaled corticosteroids. It is a prescription medication and is licensed to prevent asthma attacks. It acts by controlling the discharge of substances in the body that can cause inflammation.


Generic Pulmicort is prescribed for the prevention of asthma attacks. The medication is not known for treating or controlling an asthma attack that has already started.
