Introduction

Generic Ultravate comes from the family of drugs called topical corticosteroids. It is defined as a high-potency steroid that is used to reduce itching, swelling, and redness related to the skin disorders. It is used for treating a broad range of skin disorders, including eczema, rash, pruritus, allergies, dermatitis, psoriasis, and so on.


Use

Generic Ultravate is an anti-inflammatory and antipruritic agent that is prescribed for the treatment of a wide range of skin disorders as contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis. It is also used for treating eczema, lichen planus, burns, bug bites, alopecia areata, mycosis fungoides, psoriasis and severe diaper rash.


Side effects

Serious side effects that need instant medical attention are weight gain, puffiness in your face, blurred vision, seeing halos around lights, insomnia, mood changes, weakness, and feeling tired. Side effects of Generic Ultravate that are less serious are mild skin rash, itching, burning, redness, or dryness, spider veins, stretch marks, thinning or softening of your skin, skin rash or irritation around your mouth, numbness or tingling, changes in color of treated skin, blisters, pimples, or crusting of treated skin and swollen hair follicles.

Important Precautions

Before applying this cream, patients must inform their doctor if they have or have had any sort of allergic reaction like rashes, hives, and shortage of breath or swelling of face, tongue or lips. Patients must also inform their doctor if they are allergic to any medicine, food, preservation, dye or any other substance. Women who are pregnant, trying to get pregnant or are breastfeeding infants, are also required take advice from the doctor before starting to use this medicine. And lastly, the cream should not be applied to any body part that is not affected, including eyes, groin, mouth or any mucous secreting area.


Dosage and administration

The medication should be applied as instructed by the doctor. Wash your hands properly before applying the cream, unless you have to apply it on your hands. Do not cover, bandage or wrap the affected area after applying the cream, unless your physician has prescribed you to do so. Do not use the medication on any other part of the skin that is not affected. Do not use the medication near, eyes, mouth or mucous secreting areas.


Overdosage
